Some come to Laos for its beauty, some for religion, history, nature or peacefulness. But for me the one thing that really stands out are people living there. Kind, gentle, easy going, smiling, open. They lived through an especially rough patch under constant nine years long Laos bombing campaign – or US secret war in Laos as it is also known – but if you wouldn’t know about it you couldn’t tell as they have left it behind and opted for a bright and more optimistic look into the future. They might be slightly less enthusiastic about commerce but this is only because they choose enjoying life before anything. They still know how to take the time off and have a great time and how valuable and beneficial that is to the whole family.
