People of Vietnam

Vietnam is a vast, vivid and dramatic country in many aspects – from geography to history to its people. The dominant ethnic group is Viet or Kinh but they peacefully cohabite with plenty of ethnic minorities – just have a look at the mountainous north where you can find over 50 different minority groups. From Hmong to Dzao to Tay to Thai, Nung, Muong, Degar and Hoa or ethnic Chinese. And of course North and South Vietnamese. All different but also all reaching for a better life and at the same time still trying to follow and cherish their traditional values and customs with incredible openness and friendliness towards strangers and passers-by.
